They support the veme®
The main actors of this project
The Orchestre national de Lorraine in partnership with the national school of engineering Arts et Métiers ParisTech – Metz brought together a team of composers, percussionists, engineers, an acoustician, and technicians : as many professions as were necessary to complete the creation of the instrument at every stage of its development from the initial conception up to the construction of the instrument.
Thus, the instrumental ensemble Les Percussions de Strasbourg, which is a reference in the domain of musical creation, gave advice concerning the ergonomic aspect of the playing of the instrument as well as an appreciation of the sounds produced. The acoustician Antoine Chaigne had a central role in identifying the parameters necessary for the production of the sound as well as supplying technical calculations for the realisation of the sound, the engineers at the national school Arts et Métiers were responsible for the construction of the models of each of the different elements of the Veme and built the instrument prototypes. This aspect of the research was coordinated by Dominique Delahoche.
